Our yarns are custom spun from a factory in China. They come in the following thickness:
3-ply (about 95 yards per ounce)
6-ply for a more "chunky" look. It consists of 2 strands of 3-ply put together, but not twisted. Therefore it can be easily separated.
8-ply (about 30 yards per ounce) for a very "chunky" look. It consists of 2 strands of 4-ply well twisted together.
Please specify the thickness when placing your order. 3-ply and 6-ply may be substituted for each other. 6-ply is more readily available.
Characteristics of Silk Noil Yarn:
Not shiny and looks like cotton but softer and lighter weight. Slightly knobby. Very durable and will not shrink any further.
